I have the same problem. I have tried to load the same video file with Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, 10.04.

As the file is big I have only tried the upload twice but it has failed in the same way both times showing "Error: Cannot decode JSON object"

Have the other uploaders who have bumped into this problem have UTF-8 character set in use? I am asking this because I found this: http://search.cpan.org/~makamaka/JSON-2.21/lib/JSON.pm

Could this be the cause of the problem?

same problem here, some files are passing, others not. For me it is not related with utf08
